DIRECTOR’S NOTE

What a privilege it has been Directing and Producing this year’s production of Mary Poppins. I am always invested in the power of and message behind stories that are told on stage and selecting the show this year has been no exception. My love for Mary Poppinsbegan as a child, I was drawn to the creativity, the colour and the characters of this eccentric tale, but as an adult, what captures me most is the power of an individual to make a positive difference in the lives of others. The musical begins with a family in crisis, ‘the threads of their lives are all ravelling undone;’ they are disconnected and have lost sight of what is most important, love. Through the words and actions of their new nanny, Mary, and her close friend Bert, the entire family dynamic is altered as love fills the house once again and they rediscover what is truly important, each other. The emphasis on family values in this show has been particularly powerful for me personally as my husband and I embark on our next adventure, starting a family of our own. A show of this magnitude would not be possible without an incredible team of support and I am truly grateful to every individual who has helped along the journey, for their dedication, commitment, perseverance and willingness to share their God given talents with others. I am so grateful to my musical director, production team, diligent crew, talented cast and band and my fellow staff members; without you this would not be possible. We have pulled of a feat of supercalifragilisticexpialidocious proportions and I couldn’t be prouder of all of you.
